The team at Manufacturing Excellence had a fantastic time at the 2017 Manufacturing Champions Awards at The Midland Hotel, Manchester. Hosted by journalist and presenter Steph McGovern the awards championed the manufacturing industry in the UK and more importantly the people behind it.

As always there was a whole host of deserving nominees throughout the nine award categories with very little separating the winners in what was an extremely competitive year. Huge congratulations to everyone who was nominated and of course to those who went on to take home the awards.

Manufacturing Management Magazine Editor Chris Beck laid down a mantle during the awards for the year to come. This was to keep British Industry thriving by investing in people and skills throughout 2018 and beyond. There are challenges on the horizon for manufacturing and the only way we are going to overcome those and keep our industry at the forefront of innovation is to make sure we have invested in our workforce.

With that in mind Manufacturing Excellence will be working with companies in 2018 who want to improve and invest in their staff. With our improvement programmes we aim to nurture a culture that welcomes change and innovation and the resulting benefits. We want to help train and embed an improvement mind set within all tiers of businesses giving leaders the time, money and head space they need to plan for the future.
